Joseph
E. Elliott joined School Specialty Science as President in September of
2005. This newly created division of School Specialty, Inc. includes
Delta Education, CPO Science, Neo/SCI, and Frey Scientific. Joe has been
with School Specialty as President of Frey Scientific/Brodhead Garrett
since January of 2005.
Joe has an extensive background including high-level general management,
sales and marketing management, finance, operations, and product
development experience in the education industry. Throughout his 30+
year professional career, Joe has been employed by a number of
organizations including ACI Films, Films Incorporated, Coronet/MTI Film
and Video (as President), and Encyclopedia Britannica (EB) where he was
President of their Educational Division. At EB, he was instrumental in
growing the hands-on science curriculum business (FOSS) from development
to $12 million in revenue in two years. Most recently, Joe worked for
the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, a non-profit
provider of professional development/curriculum development tools for
K-12 teachers and administrators and post-secondary teacher training.
Joe and his wife, Paula, recently relocated to Hollis, NH. They have
been married for 35 years, and have two adult daughters. The elder is a
Principal and the younger is a Vice President with an ad agency, both in
the Chicago area. Joe has run in 22 marathons and enjoys backpacking.
