Education is the top priority of Ford Motor Company Fund. With each contribution, Ford honors the example of Henry Ford, who built schools for his earliest employees and forged innovative partnerships with the great intellectuals and learning institutions of his time. The grants Ford awards enrich individuals, communities, and industries through higher learning. They create new opportunities in the areas of business and engineering and encourage all students to realize their educational goals. An example of Ford's continuing commitment to education is the College Relations Sponsor Program (CRSP), which provides selected universities with significant funds to address a variety of needs.

At the high school level, Ford supports programs that are designed to promote diversity and innovation in education, as well as to encourage careers in business, engineering, math, science, and the arts. An example is its commitment to Henry Ford Academy, a charter school on the grounds of Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village. The mission of the Academy is to give students the skills they need to succeed in post-secondary life, be it college, skilled trades, or the general workforce. Representing 23 different school districts throughout Michigan's Wayne County, the school is considered one of the most diverse in the country.
